Other attractions such as street plays, women’s band performances, craft exhibitions, and painting competitions will add excitement to the event.
LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar stated that the authority currently employs 132 permanent and around 100 temporary female employees, who play a crucial role in the city’s development and beautification. Additionally, numerous women across the city contribute to various fields, helping society progress. To celebrate their courage, dignity, and self-reliance, the authority is organizing Shakti Utsav under Mission Shakti. The one-day event will begin at 8:30 AM at 1090 Crossing with a street play themed around women’s empowerment. This will be followed by a 2.5-km Pink Run from 1090 Crossing to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Park, flagged off by Indian Olympic athlete and Arjuna Awardee, Padma Shri Sudha Singh.
Painting Competition in Three Categories Following the run, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Park’s Open-Air Theater will host various events, including a craft exhibition by social organizations. A painting competition will also be held in three age categories: 6-12 years, 13-18 years, and 18 years & above. The event will feature a live performance by ‘Meri Zindagi,’ India’s first all-women rock band.
Outstanding Female Employees to Be Honored LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar highlighted that the first female employee to join the authority was Prakashini Shukla, who dedicated 35 years of service. Currently, numerous women are excelling in different sections of the authority. The event will also recognize and honor outstanding female employees.
Empowering Women Through Property Ownership LDA has taken significant steps to empower women in society, including reforms in property registration rules. Women can now register properties solely in their names, while men registering properties must also include a woman’s name. This initiative aims to enhance women’s financial independence. Since the authority’s inception, a total of 41,072 properties have been registered in the names of women, reinforcing their role in property ownership and self-reliance.
